Saudi Culture Ministry Launches Grant to Support Research on Saudi-Chinese Cultural Ties

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture has launched the Saudi-Chinese Cultural Relations Research Grant, aimed at supporting academic studies that promote deeper cultural understanding and scholarly cooperation between the Kingdom and China.

The initiative invites researchers to submit original proposals that explore historical, artistic, linguistic, and cultural links between Saudi Arabia and China. It comes amid growing political and economic relations between the two countries and reflects the ministry’s broader commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue through academic engagement.

Eligible research topics include cultural heritage, performing and visual arts, literature and translation, the cultural economy and creative industries, and the impact of digital platforms on modern cultural exchange.

Successful proposals will be published in peer-reviewed academic journals, contributing to the growing field of Saudi-Chinese cultural studies.

Applicants must hold at least a master’s or doctoral degree or present a track record of scholarly publications. All submissions must be made through the official grant portal by July 15, 2025.

Selected candidates will be announced in August 2025, with each grant supporting a one-year research period that includes evaluation, peer review, and final publication.
